SUMMER TIME!

Sarah At Work

PANCAKES!

We wanted people to know that Aunt Jemima’s Buttermilk complete pancake mix, is not only a good source of calcium and iron, but they are super good. Lets just say, Brian is going through a culinary renaissance with his new found love for pancakes. Move over omelets, here comes Aunt Jemima, which in 2004 was awarded by the American Culinary Institute as Best in Taste and in Real Simple magazine was proven to be the best in taste and quality. Currently, Brian is attempting to locate the best maple syrup, so if anyone has any suggestions, please give us your comments. Thank you to all who provided comments for the baby boy’s name! Although, Owen, Thaddeus and Ger are great suggestions, we might surprise you with something really plain…like Boethius.

Currently: Brian has one more final and one thesis defense… and then graduation! Sarah has a few more weeks of work… and then motherhood!
Brian’s father, mother, brother and Aunt are coming for commencement. We are really looking forward to having family come visit, see our new place, see the school, and see San Diego. We are making plans to visit the Wild Animal Park and see the Padres play baseball at the new Petco Park in downtown. The Padres are doing really well this year, but this weekend had a tough time in Seattle for some reason… could it have been Randy’s prayers? Things that make you go hummmm…

On Saturday, Sarah went to the Oceanside beach, and received a nice sun tan, but Brian remains white like freshly bleached cotton from Baton Rouge. The pictures were taken after Sarah came home from the beach. Hope you all enjoy!

'CURRaNT' SNACKS: YUM

Greetings from Southern California! The past few weeks have been a settling experience with organization of ‘stuff,’ preparation for baby (or “nesting”) and Brian’s first earthquake… but the earthquake was only settling, not damaging to belongings or body-parts.

One week ago, Sarah had the opportunity to travel up to Oregon and her family organized a wonderful baby shower, where Sarah was able to visit family and friends that she had not been able to visit for a long time. She also returned home with cute baby clothes, blankets, wash-clothes and other baby items and both Brian and Sarah are extremely appreciative of all the gifts and gestures of love. Thank you to all!

Brian will defend his thesis on May 24th and commencement will be on the 28th. So things around here are more than cranky… as Brian spends his time finishing up classes, finalizing his thesis, and attempting to find a job, while Sarah remains working full-time, nesting, managing her disproportionate weight gain, and remains ever-mindful of the growing baby and his kicks (not to worry he will not be a soccer player but perhaps wonderful punter for the Oregon State Beavers!! O… S… U… Oregon State Fight, Fight, Fight!!!).

We are currently having a blog-survey: What’s the Baby boy’s name? Leave your thoughts on the comment log (all you have to do is sign-up).
